Ldn calling

Summer time in London.. the really aren't many places that can compete! j

Its been an awesome couple of days and have been hitting the pcp workouts head on.! am getting to give-up point on a number fo exercises!!! 90 second planks.. thought my body was going to implode at one point there!

One thing i am starting to realise is almost a craving or need to now do my exercise on a day to say basis.. its not that i feel guilty anymore, but more a wanting to get better, healthier and make this change permanent. Just a quick one today as am off for a run in hyde park - hope you all having a good w/e and enjoying the home stretch

WHAT A GREAT COUPLE OF DAYS! noticing the change in real life

Not sure what it is.. but the buzz is back and am loving the workouts, results and feeling a lot better about life in general. Home stretch is there and its gonna be a good 4 weeks to come!

My motivation had really been waning the last couple of weeks, the lack of seeing my friends at night, the workouts every day, injuries!!!

I've had a  bit of extra time and diversifying into a bit more exercise! its unreal how much stronger and quicker I am, much better balance,  whether it be hitting a gold ball, squash or riding a wakeboard.. there is no question PCP is doing wonders here.

On food front, the eggs are still a tad overwhelming... but the veg and fruit front has been great, and i know that when this ends - i''ll be a much better and healthier cook & eater for it! Its rubbing off on my wife also, who has dropped 3-4 kilo's just by improving on the food and cutting out alcohol for a few weeks. Positive effects all round!

Hope you all well out there !

Loving it

After some very lackluster days...  have woken up and just smashed the last 3. Back is feeling a lot better and the skipping is feeling very natural now.

I had pizza for my indulgence! not gonna lie it tasted good -but the sleep that followed was horrific, not sure if this was the cheese, salt .. body felt out of kilter!

Loving the as much as you want veg, avo's tomato and balsamic are just a great snack, along with edmame!

Feeling very motivated again and gonna push hard to get some good results

Time to Nail this and Singapore suprise

Apols for not attending to the blog for the last week but its been quite a manic time! I blame work most times, but the workouts have gotten longer, had friends in town and a great weekend in Singapore has kept me away from the laptop at home!

Given all thats going on,  I still managed to pretty much nail PCP workouts for the last 10 days  ex of thurs/friday where I tweaked that muscle in the mid of my back and had to pass on the abs stuff as the pain was just to much.  I just did a lot more skipping and was easily over 2000 reps a day.. still can't complete those dam bicycles and floor jumps ( up to 12 reps now!) but its def getting better.  The weight loss has stopped and am actually up 1kg but am chilled in the paddock!! - more inches off the waist and am feeling good and a lot more fit.

Sing i must say is a top place - especially for PCP. You really sweat it out in the literal sense - and the air is so much cleaner than hk, grassy area's everywhere. I really use to find Sing a bit sterile and boring but it really has changed and got a lot going on! If I stay long term in Asia - this is def where the wife and I would settle down - i highly recommend a run along the quays in the early morning for anyone going there anytime soon - such a great vibe!!!

Anyway here are the latest pics.  Hope you all have a good week!!

Another manic monday!

Why is it that you always have less time on a monday - be it work, for a meal, or PCP! finally sitting down with my 2egg shake with a dash of coffee (thx for the tip marko - def a winner!) Great last 4 days..
Work-out are really kicking my a$$ at the moment! the bicycles, pull ups, planks.. but am enjoying  it big time.

One other thing i have been using of late is the ab wheel to help strengthen my core - i used to struggle on these, but now am killing them.. so def can see how much PCP is working NICE ONE!.
Not sure if ok  but have been sliding in 3-4 sets when i do my PCP at the gym and its a cool little addition. and man do you feel it the next day!!!!

Anyways hope you all have good week !

..... Confessions of a 30r old in Hong King + Pirates

Well its been an awesome 2 weeks and i'm noticing the results....

Having said that i failed abysmally tonight - work got the better of me, guests in town and just couldn't find the time to fit in my workout. Before i knew it i was at sevva hitting a few glasses of wine and eating a load of *&^*. Back early at 9pm but don't feel chuffed at all to have had a few on a night out....  don't get me wrong its awesome to see mates and catch up after more than a month, but if anything - I don't feel great now and a huge sense of guilt at not hitting my workout today is kicking in  - bad end to what has been 2 good weeks... i guess we all have hiccups along the way but going to have to make up for this one.

One thing I can recommend to people looking to take some time out and chill, is to hit the new Pirates of the Carribean! Watched this late Weds night and man was it entertaining.. Not everyones taste but it cracks me up! Hangover 2 also looks helluva funny also! Bad weather w/e in HK so book your tickets!

Workouts are all  good ex of the the V's and dam those planks are killing me !!!!!!!! frikkers - the burn at 40 secs after a load of legups is just unreal - sure breathing must play some part but i am failing in that department!

anyways hope you all had good week out there and ended on a better note than i did!

TGIF

Well I am super chuffed its the weekend.... and time is on our side for once!  Woop woop. About to head off to buy my blender and start smashing those smoothie dinners in my face!!

Had a great week of PCP but used the indulgence card last night.. Some carpaccio to start - Steak and rocket salad, with a little bit of cheese and glass of red wine really went down a treat and was great to spend some quality social time with the mates! I can see this is the way i will spend most if not all of my INDULGENCES . Dam it was hard not to eat the bread they put on the table before or the biscotti;s but had to draw the line somewhere and only 60 s to go!

Work-outs going well...and liking the new double exercises -  the pulls ups are weirdly fine but man those V-SITS on the final sets are killers!

Have not lost any wight this week, but noticeably seeing some muscle mass and definition building - so chuffed.

Took these pics few days back but blog was down

Day 28 - 84.00kg waist 33.5

After 4 solid days of PCP... man was it tough to get going today!!!! Just felt super tired this morning and more that i feel like doing something else as exercise, but finally convinced my self to get down to the gym at 2pm - workout was really tough but got through it all pretty quickly.
I am not looking forward to those planks getting longer .. 10 sec's more and i would been overs! Guess these are the cycles u go through... but i could have done with a serious energy injection today

Being sticking to the diet pretty much 99% - ex of one night out at japanese  restaurant - edameme, mushrooms,  asparagus and some salmon teriyaki fitted in as well as it could have.. !!

Found a great stuffed pepper recipe which is great and thought i'd share

Hope you all having good w/e

BACK TO REALITY

Back to school, work and the reality of limited time vs PCP!!

Man that was a shock.. after finishing work at 7pm, shopping for groceries and PCP i finally sat down for my dinner and an episode of Modern Family at 9:15pm - not your mate, but if you're not gonna sacrifice on your food,  guess this is the hard part that people talk about on their blogs - thinking  a gym membership will have to be done for 2 months on the darkside so i can go before/after lunch.

Workout was great today - after a long flight - def what i needed to help shift the jet lag - liked the sideways curls, and almost completed the pull ups... with a lot of difficulty. Feeling a massive improvement in my dexterity.

Anyway here are the pictures now that my wife has returned with the camera- Looking forward to seeing more improvements, and getting rid of that lower belly.

Day 19 - weight 84 kg, 33.5in on the waist.

Big Day 1 - 87,5kg 35.5inch waist

AWOL for a night

Well am off to the bush for the next 2 days for my brother in law's wedding... gonna be great. Not sure how I am going to abide by the PCP laws and rules of engagement.. but I'll try my best, been throwing in an extra 300 jump ropes the last 3 days for extra good measure.

Workouts going great again..and injuries healing quickly with lots of stretching. I am def noticing how much fitter and stronger my body is in ceratin areas.. jump rope sets of up to 400 are happening, and often going well byond the allocated reps on the last set of most of my exercises ex of the LUNGES! crums those guys leave me in agony!

Hope everyone has great weekend - adios from sunny South Africa

INJURY TIME

Today the day of injuries and

Post and during my workouts noticed a few things so to say.
Acute pain on the inside of my lower right calf towards 500 jumps on the rope... not sure if muscular or tendon.. but wondering if i should be resting this as its the second day this is happening.
Also right muscle on mid spine of back "tweaked"  on one of the incline pulls.. managed to compelte rest of my workout without problem,. Push-ups & sit ups no issue, but if i try any twisting action with my torso, mt back ain't happy at all. Kinda came out the blue, again not sure whether to be resting this now? Popped some muscle relaxants and hoping just a pinched nerve.

Frustrating - really felt i was progeressing well with the program and its been getting a lot easier as time has gone by. taken some muscle relaxants and hoping for the best

SA VERY EASY YET VERY HARD!!

Three days since i have arrived in SA and man its good to be back home with family, leading a somewhat normal life away from the craziness of hong kong. Here for seven more days - I've found certain things about PCP so easy here, yet other things incredibly difficult!

The easy
- workouts seem 100x easier - I'm putting it down to the amount of space, clean air, plenty of time and very good R&R. 25 degrees, sunny and blue skies are a good incentive to get out of bed and start one's day vs a computer screen!
- Food and cooking are really easy here... the cost & availability of ingredients, ripe fresh fruit & veg is awesome (AVOCADO, BUTTERNUT, GEM SQUASH AND WHITE GRAPES!) plus having the time to cook all this stuff is a massive plus. Meals are good and if anything i am overfull

The hard
- well its just one thing - and its food. SA and Durban  in particular has, an abundance of great food and a serious social braai (barbeque) culture.
While its super easy cooking and getting the food, and avoiding the booze around the fire,  there has been a lot of household favourites that i am agonising, not being able to sink my teeth into. All the seafood hangouts by the sea! (as durbs people bath the stuff in lemon butter!) Woolworth's chicken pies, Biltong, Boerewors, garlic bread, potato bake...  man its tough !

Well time to sign out,  feeling good , and the 10 day detox thus far has been great. No massive noticeable body changes, though i am down 2kg's, but i feel more energetic and am sleeping better at night.

My  lunch today
2 piece Low GI wholegrain bread, Avo, loads of Salad Peppers, tomato, read onion, with some smoked chicken on top.. charts!

NEED WINE!

Well been stuck in the airport now for 4 hrs since my flight has been delayed and am contemplating seriously smashing a large glass of wine...

Workout was easy today.. my abs are chuffed to bits to be having a break and the jumpropes getting a lot easier.  Its been good week.. half portions were not a problem, no soda drinks or booze.

The hard part starts tomorrow.. mad for the fruit not so much the veg!

happy easter to all out there

Mind-games?

I don't know if its that my body is use to eating so much, or that my mind is playing tricks on me when i see everyone elses big helpings... but man do i get hungry in between meals ... tried the drinking trick and tea def helped more than water, also snacked on some jerkey and that helped loads.

Workouts going well - added a 5km run in with my workout today -  energy levels were actually fine  (unlike the last 3 days), even the post the workout.

A duel has also started with my jumprope..  50 reps is on but the stupid thing keeps hooking my foot round 35 - hopefully practice gets me there and quickly

Day 2 gone 88 more to go!

Well the first 2 days are down without many problems... Exercise done first thing in the morning to some banging tunes! The one thing that i'm really noticing is how hungry I am in between meals! The thought of going for a run or hitting the gym is out of the question... think i'll fall over!  Bit envious not to be heading out to share a few pints with the fellas and watch some rugby but hey its ONLY 3 months. The wife has nicked the camera for her holiday,  so will get some week 1 shots up as soon as i can

Adios from sunny HK
